Scope: Site details & development with Water Management interventions
The project was done in Collab with Abohar Urban Studio
The site lies in the CBD of the small town with multiple recreational spaces around crossing the main roads of the town. The recreational spaces were developed integrating a commercial plaza, Vending zones, city parks, museums, multipurpose areas, etc.
The design is proposed to solve the water logging issues of the area using sustainable design measures along with making them aesthetically pleasing.
CoUP is working in collaboration with Abohar Urban Studio for urban development in CBD of Abohar city in Punjab.
Abohar Urban Studio is an initiative between Nagar Nigam (Municipal council), Abohar (@mcabohar) and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali (@iisermohalipop).
The project is exemplary in the fact that it truly integrates research, teaching and social engagement towards studying and resolving a real world problem where the proposed interventions have a high likelihood of being implemented.
